  • Why hire a camera?

At Lake Image Systems we don't just sell cameras; we also hire for short periods, typically from a day to a couple of weeks, although there are no limitations to the hire period.

So, why would you hire rather than buy?

    • Try before you buy. Give the camera a real test, to make sure. Half your rental fee is refunded when you purchase (within 3 months of hire date).
    • Have the camera just for a particular project. If your application is a one off, save your capital budget.
    • Have the camera the following day, rather than waiting for a new system to be delivered.(subject to availability)
    • Have an operator too. An extra pair of hands, expertly operating the system to ensure your events are captured in the highest quality possible.

The hire period can be anything from a day upwards, and all standard accessories are included.

    What cameras do we hire?

As we have our sales demonstration cameras available for hire, we not only have a variety of systems, but they are the latest models.

    • MotionPro Most hire applications are suited to MotionPro. In addition, having two available, 3D and other multi-camera applications can be imaged.
    • MotionScope PCI. General purpose high speed imaging in a PC
    • MotionMeter. The ultimate in portability, for instant slow motion.
    • HG-100K. For faster applications, up to 100,000fps, or where the image quality is paramount, maybe for broadcast.
    • NEW MOTIONeer For use with your laptop, the battery power enables use anywhere.

    Applications.....

So, what applications have we recently hired cameras for.

Production line fault diagnosis is the number one application. Engineers can pinpoint faults in a few minutes instead of the usual hours of guesswork. As all our cameras feature 'post- triggering', you are able to capture unpredictable events like machine stoppages , by triggering the camera to stop after the crash, or even automatically from the alarm signal of the machine itself!

    Other recent applications include:

  • Impact tests of components or materials. The final stage of a project, rather than an ongoing series of tests. recent examples include personal medical devices, mobile phones, sections of car chassis.
  • Sports. Seen any slow motion footage on channel 4 cricket?
  • Biomechanics. The study of jumping insects and the gait of a running athlete.
  • Exploding pressure valves!

  • Not 'Dead' Money

Remember, when you hire from us, and order a high speed camera within three months of the hire date, half your rental fee is refunded.

    Ishida saves a packet

"We had two engineers analysing a machine for about 3 weeks, using a standard camcorder trying to work out why crisp packets were not being turned round as expected. (The variation in the shape makes them very difficult to work with.)

"Hiring a MotionPro for a day, had the problem solved in an instant.

"Money well spent. Compared to 6 man- weeks, hiring a high speed camera was the cheap option!"

    John Rowley, Ishida Europe
