    Light Sources - Pulsed Lasers
    .
With some subjects, particularly sprays, motion blur can be a problem. Using a pulsed laser can help. Both these images were taken using the same spray subject, and high-speed camera. The first using conventional, continuous light source. Even with an exposure time of 1/4,500 second, the image suffers from motion blur.

The second image was taken using pulsed laser illumination. The short pulse from the laser reduces the exposure time to 1/40,000,000 of a second, and the smallest droplets in the spray can be seen clearly - frozen in flight.

    The same technique can

  • Freeze bullets in flight
  • See through flames
  • See welding by eliminating arc flares
  • Image plasma flow

Synchronising with our high speed cameras is very straightforward, and framing rates of up to 50,000 frames per second can be imaged using a pulsed laser.

  • Can't justify purchasing . . ?
    .
Lake Image Systems has a rental department !

In addition to selling the widest range of high speed cameras available, we also hire for short periods.

Hiring may be the answer, if

  • You have a requirement now, but your budget will only be released next financial year.
  • The application you have is purely a "one- off" and could not justify purchase.
  • Hire funds are quicker to access than the capital purchase budget

We hire all cameras in the range, supplied with all standard accessories you need for your application (specialist applications may require extra accessories at extra cost)

In addition, if you purchase within three months of hiring, half your hire charges will be refunded.
