Analysing the biomechanics of movement is
more than just using slow motion.
| Analysis Software - with external data inputs |
 |
Slow motion footage can reveal a lot about sporting
actions to the trained eye.
Add to this sychronised data acquisition, from
sources
such as force plates, and the resulting data can prove
significantly more powerful.
MiDAS is a modular software system,
which will control
your high speed camera (MotionScope PCI &
MotionPro), as well as accepting multiple data sources,
allowing synchronised analysis of data and
motion.
Multiple inputs are possible, from both analogue and
digital sources.
The motion and data information can then be exported
to Excel for in-depth quantitative analysis.

| Top Women's Squash Player trains with MotionPro |
 |
Vicky Botwright, present world ranking 14, is
training at the English Institute of Sport, with
the help of two MotionPro systems, recently
installed by Lake Image Systems to aid the analysis of
her performance.
"Having these cameras provides high quality instant
visual feedback for performance evaluation, and
subsequent improvement. Recording at 250 and 500 fps
enables detailed analysis never before
achievable" says Stafford Murray, Head
Performance Analyst
The cameras are used to capture the athlete in action,
together with data from pressure plates. This
information can then be analysed to help achieve
optimum performance, and perfect timing.

| High Speed Cameras - for sports analysis |
 |
|
High Speed Cameras enable you to see your
sport from a different perspective -
slowly.
With modern digital high speed cameras,
capturing the
right moments is easy. There are models for a
quick 'look-see', and high resolution cameras for high
performance imaging applications. Systems can be
incorporated into your PC, or located remotely from the
control PC.
Probably the most versatile and
popular for sports science applications is the
MotionPro, which neatly fits into your PC, and
has a compact camera head.
Capable of up to 500 frames per
second, at a resolution of 1280x1024 pixels, and
available in either monochrome or colour, MotionPro's
versatility is further enhanced by installing up to 4
cameras in the same PC for in-depth 3D anaylsis.
